Genesis FAQ’s

Get answers to your most pressing questions about this specific treatment. Here are a few that we hear most often:

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY SKIN BEFORE AND AFTER MY TREATMENT?

View our Laser Genesis Before & After Treatment Instructions.

How long is a Genesis appointment?

Treatment time can very from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the area treated.

Who will perform my treatment?

Genesis is always performed by a physician.

Will it hurt?

Patients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic. You will experience a gentle warming of the skin’s surface, similar to lying in the sun.

Is it safe?

Genesis is completely safe when performed by our trained medical professionals.

What should I expect?

You will experience a gentle warming of your skin’s surface during the procedure as the hand piece is moved back and forth about a half inch above your skin.

When will I start seeing results?

You will begin noticing results 3 months after treatment. Individual results are subtle, however when done in a series the effect of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic.

How many treatments will I need?

Because results of this treatment are cumulative, we recommend 4 to 6 treatments, once every two weeks, to achieve optimal results.

How long do results last?

A perk of Genesis is that results continue to accumulate after each treatment. The accelerated collagen production peaks at about 12 weeks after your last treatment. Because the natural aging process continues, it is difficult to pinpoint exactly how long results will last, but benefits can be seen for several years. Sun protection and attention to skin care are necessary to maintain optimal results.

Will there be downtime?

No. You can immediately return to normal activities, but may notice a slight pink skin tone for up to 2 hours after procedure.

What can I do to amplify the results?

Genesis laser treatment is often combined with DermalInfusion or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to help with redness.

Am I a candidate?

Laser Genesis is safe for all skin types. Those with redness, broken capillaries, large pores, fine wrinkles, discoloration, and uneven texture should consider this treatment.
