A Peak Performing Lymphatic System

April 27th, 2021 | By: Timeless Skin Solutions

… and its impact on the health of your skin

It’s likely you have been hearing a lot of discussion about the lymphatic system and ways to detox it, but what does that really mean and why now?  Probably the most obvious reason is that we are in a pandemic, and along with that comes a lot of stress.  When we experience stress, a stress-fighting hormone called cortisol is released, resulting in metabolic acidosis. Basically, your lymphatic system gets clogged. Our body’s own waste removal service, the lymphatic system is the least talked about system in the body but is arguably the most vital. Just a few of the symptoms you may experience when your lymphatic system is not functioning at an optimal level include:
  • Soreness and stiffness in the morning
  • Fatigue
  • Bloating
  • Itchy and dry skin
  • Water retention
  • Brain fog
  • Cold hands and feet
  • Worsened allergies and skin irritations
  • Sinus infections
  • … and the list goes on.
The best thing we have learned here at Timeless Skin Solutions is that keeping your lymphatic system moving does not have to cost money - just movement, plenty of water, and healthy food.  And what’s better, when the lymphatic system is working, your complexion glows and the body is full of vitality.  And if you become ill, you have the right tools in place to regain your health quickly.  Here are a few articles we think are helpful to understanding the role the lymphatic systems plays in your overall health, how to keep it healthy, and simple steps you can take for a preventative health care plan.  You know what they say, take care of the inside and the rest will take care of itself, including your skin.  (3 minute read) The Truth Beauty Company takes a look at what makes up the lymphatic system and how dry brushing is an easy at-home way to help contribute to healthy lymphatic drainage in their article Skin Glow and the Lymphatic System (7 minute read) The clean-living company, Branch Basics, takes a deep dive into the lymphatic system, what it is, and how it works, and then provides 16 Ways to Detox Your Lymphatic System. (4 minute read) So why is Timeless talking about the lymphatic system? It turns out that it can significantly impact your skin health and your face. Absolution Cosmetics looks at The Benefits of Facial Lymphatic Drainage - and provides step-by-step instructions on how to do it at home.  (3 minute read) We all love the cute facial rollers that are all the rage right now, and you may have even received one as part of your SkinMedica Gift with Purchase through the holidays! But, what does it really do for your skin? The Natural Art of Skincare looks at Beauty Rolling & the Lymphatic System. It turns out that this simple tool can help to drain the lymph system, relax tension in the face, and stimulate the flow of qi upwards to the face… who knew?!
