In just minutes, with little to no discomfort, our experienced injector uses a tiny needle to inject Botox or Dysport into the area of concern. The treated muscles start to relax within 3 to 5 days, and reach their maximum degree of relaxation within 2 weeks.

Results typically appear within 7-10 days after the injection. In some cases, you may notice effects as early as 3-5 days, but it can take up to 14 days to see the full results.

Botox and Dysport treatments are typically done every 3 to 4 months, depending on individual needs and how your body metabolizes the product. Regular treatments help maintain a smooth, youthful appearance, but your provider will tailor a plan based on your goals.

There is no true downtime associated with Botox and Dysport, however you should remain upright for 4 hours and should not participate in vigorous exercise for 1 hour following treatment.

Yes, it is. Botox and Dysport are used to treat expression lines and wrinkles resulting from muscular contractions. Fillers (such as Voluma, Juvederm XC, Juvederm Ultra XC, Belotero, Restylane and Restylane Lyft) restore volume to deeper wrinkles and areas where there has been a loss of collagen.

Both injectables are a type of botulinum type A used to relax the muscles that cause frown lines and other overactive muscles of the face, like forehead lines and crow's feet.

Both injectables have been in use for years, both have a high safety profile, and both must be injected every 3-4 months. Both show similar efficacy and side effects, and in most double-blind clinical studies both the patient and the doctor were unable to tell the results apart.

Dysport is a smaller-sized molecule so its dosage and pricing is different than Botox. Dysport may not last quite as long (duration of efficacy) but has a quicker onset (2-5 days vs 4-7 days for Botox). Dysport diffuses more (spreads to a wider area). This is an advantage in some areas of the face and a disadvantage in others. You may need more Dysport to get the same result as Botox. These are being studied.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend waiting until you have finished. Avoid Botox or Dysport treatments if you have a skin infection at the injection site or a muscle or nerve condition such as ALS or myasthenia gravis.

Obagi Elastiderm® Eye Cream or Serum: Both the eye cream an serum work to promote collagen and elastin production while strengthening, firming and protecting the delicate skin around the eyes. The formula also contains caffeine to help alleviate under-eye puffiness. Available in office.

SkinMedica Retinol Complex: Boost the anti-aging process with a Retinol to encourage newer, healthier skin cells for a more youthful complexion.
