Right after your Sculptra appointment, it’s normal to notice a little redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising around the injection sites. You may also see some slight puffiness in the areas treated.

That initial volume can be exciting ... but it is not your final result.
Part of the fullness you see right away comes from the sterile water used to prepare Sculptra. Your body naturally absorbs that water over the next few days, so it is normal for the area to look more like it did before treatment once that early swelling and volume settle.
Don’t panic—this does not mean Sculptra “didn’t work.” Sculptra is not intended to create an instant, dramatic transformation. It’s designed to help restore a more refreshed, supported look as collagen production increases.

Many patients are instructed to follow the 5-5-5 rule, which is to massage the treated areas for five minutes, five times a day, for five days after each treatment session. How long do Sculptra results last?
