A typical appointment lasts 30 minutes. The procedure itself lasts 15 minutes on average, but your medical provider will want to spend time discussing your desired outcomes, as well as what you should expect in the days following treatment.

Once in the room with your medical provider, they will numb the area under the chin with lidocaine to minimize any possible discomfort. Next they will apply a temporary tattoo to the treatment area with tiny dots to clearly indicate each injection site. Once the KYBELLA™ has been injected you may feel a slight burning or tingling sensation in the treatment area which will dissipate soon after. You should expect some tenderness, numbness and swelling for up to 2 weeks.
Results can be in as soon as 2 weeks as the swelling dissipates and you will continue to see improvements for up to 6 weeks post-treatment. Multiple treatments of KYBELLA™ are generally needed to achieve desired results.
Yes. Once desired results are achieved, retreatment is not expected.
We tell most patients to plan for about 4 days of social downtime with this treatment. Tenderness, discomfort and numbness in the treated area is very common. This will normally last less than 5 days, and for some patients may last up to 14 days. Bruising may also occur in the area of treatment, and this will likely resolve within a week.
