When you arrive to the office for treatment, a medical provider will apply topical numbing cream to your skin. Providers go over exactly what to expect during the healing process and how to take care of your skin post-treatment. Afterwards, you will wait for approximately 1 hour for the cream to take effect while you relax comfortably at the office.
As the physician performs the treatment, you will feel the warm pulses from the laser. Immediately after the procedure, skin will be red and swollen with a honeycomb-like appearance. As the skin heals, it will form a natural, protective dressing that will slough off within 3 to 4 days to reveal healthy tissue underneath.
